Description
A delightful twist on the classic Italian bruschetta, this sweet version features crispy baguette topped with cream cheese, melted dark chocolate, and fresh strawberries.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Baguette
- 1 cup Dark Chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
- 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, sliced
- 4 oz Cream Cheese
- 2 tbsp Honey
- Fresh Mint Leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Slice the baguette into 1/2-inch thick pieces and lay them on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and toast the baguette slices for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Chop the dark chocolate and melt it in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in short bursts of 30 seconds until smooth.
- In a bowl, soften the cream cheese by mixing it with honey until creamy. Optionally, mix in a drop of vanilla extract.
- Spread a layer of the cream cheese mixture on each toasted baguette slice, then drizzle with melted dark chocolate, and top with sliced strawberries.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and serve immediately.
Notes
For a healthier twist, consider using whole wheat baguette or Greek yogurt instead of cream cheese.
