Description

Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, chopped
  • Powdered Sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine active dry yeast with warm milk and a pinch of sugar. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, salt, and egg. Gradually incorporate all-purpose flour until the dough pulls away from the bowl.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Form dough into a ball and place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a 1/2 inch thick rectangle and sprinkle chopped strawberries. Roll snugly and pinch the seams.
  6. Slice into 12 pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.

Notes

Ensure to let the dough rise adequately for a fluffy texture. Can be served warm with butter or whipped cream.
