Description

Cheeseburger pockets are a convenient, hand-held delight that captures the savory goodness of a classic cheeseburger in a flaky pastry.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) lean ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onions for 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Mix in garlic powder, diced pickles, and salt; cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  4. Unroll puff pastry on a floured surface, roll out slightly, and cut into 4×4 inch squares.
  5. Spoon cheeseburger filling into the center of each square.
  6. Fold the pastry over to create a triangle and press edges together. Crimp with a fork for security.
  7. Brush each pocket with egg wash.
  8. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
