- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and half the flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined, then gradually incorporate the remaining flour.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly into a cylinder, slice into 12 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish.
- Cover rolls and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of milk until smooth.
- Allow rolls to cool for 10 minutes before frosting with the cream cheese mixture.
