Description

Delicious and warm cinnamon rolls perfect for the holiday season, featuring a rich filling and creamy frosting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, and half the flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until combined, then gradually incorporate the remaining flour.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.
  6. After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 1/4-inch thick rectangle.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a cylinder, slice into 12 pieces, and place in a greased baking dish.
  9. Cover rolls and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of milk until smooth.
  12. Allow rolls to cool for 10 minutes before frosting with the cream cheese mixture.

Notes

Consider adding chopped nuts or shredded coconut for extra flavor and texture.
