Description
A delightful holiday dessert that combines creamy custard with the warm flavors of cinnamon and vanilla, perfect for Christmas gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out your pie dough and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Trim the edges and dock the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling. Bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.
- While the crust cools, in a mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, and sugar until they dissolve. Add in the eggs, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and nutmeg, whisking until completely combined.
- Carefully pour the custard mixture into the baked pie crust, ensuring not to spill.
- Place the pie in the preheated oven. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the custard is set in the center. A slight jiggle is fine; it will firm up as it cools.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool to room temperature. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
Top with whipped cream and fresh berries for an added touch. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days.
