Description

Deliciously crispy broccoli cheddar poppers made in the air fryer for a fun and healthy veggie treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh broccoli, chopped
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Prep the broccoli: Wash and chop into small florets.
  2. Steam the broccoli for 3-5 minutes until tender and vibrant.
  3. Mix the filling by combining broccoli, cheddar, cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Shape the mixture into bite-sized balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Coat each ball in beaten egg and then roll in panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
  7. Air fry the poppers for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy, shaking the basket halfway through.
  8. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

For a healthier option, use whole wheat panko or low-fat cheese. Vegan alternatives for cheese and eggs are also available.
