- 1 large head of cauliflower
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
- Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley, cilantro, or basil)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Toss the cauliflower steaks in the mixture until well coated.
- Arrange the seasoned cauliflower steaks on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the top of each steak, pressing down slightly.
- Bake for 15 minutes on one side, then flip and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, let cool briefly, and top with fresh herbs before serving.
Notes
Serve with quinoa or brown rice for a balanced meal. Pair with tahini sauce or garlic aioli for a creamy touch.
