Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley, cilantro, or basil)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Toss the cauliflower steaks in the mixture until well coated.
  4. Arrange the seasoned cauliflower steaks on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  5. If using breadcrumbs, sprinkle them over the top of each steak, pressing down slightly.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes on one side, then flip and bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool briefly, and top with fresh herbs before serving.
