Ingredients

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
- 2 large eggs
- Fillings (chocolate chips, fruit preserves, Nutella)
- Toppings (powdered sugar, cinnamon, chopped nuts)
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: Warm the milk and combine with yeast, letting it sit until foamy.
- Combine the Dry Ingredients: Whisk flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: Whisk eggs and add to the milk mixture with melted butter.
- Form the Dough: Mix wet and dry ingredients, knead until smooth.
- First Rise: Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Roll and Fold: Roll out dough, brush with butter, fold like a letter and repeat twice.
- Second Rise: Wrap dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare Muffin Tin: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a muffin tin.
- Shape the Cruffins: Roll out a portion of dough, spread filling, cut into strips, shape into spirals and place in muffin cups.
- Final Rise: Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and Serve: Allow to cool, dust with powdered sugar or cinnamon if desired.
