Description

Ingredients

  • 68 medium Apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • â…“ cup All-Purpose Flour
  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter (chilled and cubed)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
  3. In a bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour.
  4. If using a homemade crust, roll it out; if store-bought, unroll the bottom crust into the pie pan.
  5. Pour the apple mixture into the prepared crust.
  6. Dot the apple filling with the chilled butter.
  7. Prepare the top crust and cut slits for steam to escape.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes.
  9. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence.
