- 6–8 medium Apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- ¾ cup Granulated Sugar
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon Nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
- â…“ cup All-Purpose Flour
- ¼ cup Unsalted Butter (chilled and cubed)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples.
- In a bowl, combine apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour.
- If using a homemade crust, roll it out; if store-bought, unroll the bottom crust into the pie pan.
- Pour the apple mixture into the prepared crust.
- Dot the apple filling with the chilled butter.
- Prepare the top crust and cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, then reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes.
- Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence.
